We start them early!

Things have been crazier than usual around here. I think the terrible 2's have officially hit the twins. I am definitely paying for my raisin with these guys! Especially Ryan, my strong willed child. Let's just say I have been hitting my vices hard lately, running and diet coke! Speaking of running - we like to start them young at our house! Here is Drew running his "daily mile" on the treadmill!
I tried to get a good picture of the boys the other night in their pj's - this was as good as it got folks!

My blue eyed walker! Drew is walking everywhere now! We went to the doctor a few weeks ago for his well-child check up, he is in the 98th percentile for height! Surprised me! Then I noticed he is not that much shorter than the twins!

We like being in containers in our house!

Funny Jaxson story: We were wrestling, no I mean sitting at the dinner table the other night and I had a Sonic cup that I was drinking out of. Jaxson asked me when I went. I told him before I picked him up from school. He then said - Mom did you order our order? I asked him what our order was, and he states "A route 44 Diet Coke with Vanilla and 2 Apple Juices!". Ok - so maybe we have been hitting happy hour a little much!

Another funny twin story: Both of the boys have pulled this lately. I will raise my voice a little to get them to listen and do something and they look at me and tell me to "Quit being an Angry Elf". It is all I can do not to laugh, this is from Elf the movie when they are talking to the midget. The boys will actually try and reenact the scene which involved throwing themselves across the table. I thought a month after Christmas this would have stopped - Nope!

Today Drew went to Mothers Day Out at church, since I had a doctors appointment this afternoon. It was the first time I have ever been without kids in this house - kind of weird.....so I celebrated and cleaned bathrooms!

Have a great day!

"We don't want you inside!"

These were the words yelled by my 2 year old twins as they locked me outside this morning - in 32 degree weather. Yes you read that right. Here is the story.

We have been bringing the dogs inside the garage the past week or so at night because it has been getting down into the single digits and they are old (12 and 13 I think). I use to take them out and in during morning and afternoon naptime (last winter), but alas we sure don't have that anymore with any of the boys. I am lucky to get two hours where they are all asleep. Sorry sidetracked..... so I have learned if I tell the boys what I am doing and ask them to keep an eye on Drew they usually don't get into too much trouble. If I don't tell them what I am doing, they go looking for me and going where they are not suppose to (my bedroom).

I tell the boys this morning, they say ok, and I go out to the garage and get the dogs leashed up and take them around back. I leave the garage door open as well as the backdoor to the backyard so I can fill their water buckets that have frozen over. I get the dogs in the pen, come inside with the buckets and notice the boys have opened the door to the garage with the cold air blowing in. I tell the twins to go to the living room close the door to the garage and the garage door and take the water out back to the dogs. I come up to the back door to come back in and all three of the boys are looking at me. I try the door and it is locked! I look at Ryan and he is just grinning. Culprit right there. He has dead bolted me outside!

I can see all three boys, so not too panicky yet. Ryan then proceeds to go to the pantry, his home away from home and start eating. Drew is right there with him. I am yelling trying to get Jaxson to unlock the door and he yells back, "We don't want you inside!". Thanks......I can feel the love right now.

I go around front to see if I have left the front door unlocked, no such luck. Then I start thinking about what window I can break. It feels like a lifetime has passed, I go back to the backdoor to see if I can see the boys. They are all sitting in the kitchen floor eating pudding with their fingers- yeah....

Then the thought occurs to me, we hid a key a couple of weeks ago for my mom in case she needed to come check on the house while we were in Dallas. Yeahhhhh! I run around front, get in the front door, run in the kitchen and this is what I hear

"Oh you are back (the tone is not enthusiastic)" - From Jaxson

Sorry pudding party is over!

Sitting up and In and Under!

We have had an eventful couple of weeks. Two big milestones, Drew is sitting up and the boys are now in big boy beds! It has been an easy transition with the sleeping separately, the boys have always slept in the same crib/bed until now. I think they were ready for their own sleeping space. They have LOVED their new beds, and nap time is actually easier, less tempting to play with each other.
This afternoon Ryan came out after nap asking where Bubba was. I had no idea, I went in their room and saw a little foot sticking out from under the bed. Guess he liked under the bed today for naptime. He seriously took a 3 hour nap under his bed. When I asked him why he was under there, he said because there was a pillow (one I put on the ground just in case they fell off). Ok, to each his own!

On another note, we have digressed a little on the potty training, especially when we watch t.v. So I have started taking away their toys and putting them where they can see them but can't get to them. They are slowly earning them back. Doesn't our mantle look nice.... Jon said he might need to build another mantle!

Fourth of July Weekend!

Fourth of July weekend we had a blast! Starting Friday, I snapped some "action shots" of Drew. We are very close to crawling, but right now army crawling and rolling gets him everywhere he wants to go, so he is officially mobile! Now the saying around the house is "Watch out for Drew, don't step on him!". Friday night we went and ate out. This experience has gotten quite comical lately. We either have a child refusing to sit still and eat or they like to entertain other tables. This has made for some eventful evenings out. On our way home we made a couple of potty stops on the side of the road and Jaxson ended up in just his underwear by the time we made it home. So what does he do, he runs out of the garage and through the sprinklers! Then of course, "Bubba" has to participate. Next thing, they grab my decorative flags out of my plants and wave them around. We believe in "Freedom" of all forms!

We went to Canyon on Saturday for the fourth festivities! We ate pancakes at the pancake breakfast, sorry did not get any pics. This is the boys third year for this, the first year they were soooo tiny, now they ate two adult size plates! Then we headed down to Mimi and Poppi's for some parade watchin. It was raining at this point, but fun was had by all! Thanks Aunt Ray, Mimi and Poppi for sitting out in the rain with us! The boys had a blast. They still talk about the horses, motorcycles, and candy! Drew chilled in the back of the car.

After the parade, we headed out to Amarillo, caught a quick bit to eat and then went to story time with Curious George! By this point the boys were beyond tired. They had come into our room that morning around 4:30 screaming good morning - they were asking for pancakes! I got them back to bed, but not sure how much sleep they had gotten. So we sat in story time for about 5 minutes before we lost it...no personal pictures of us with him, but a good one of the boys listening.

On Sunday we decided to brave it. We took the boys to Toy Story 3. Drew chilled at Mimi and Poppi's. The boys did really well! Jon picked the wrong boy for the movie. He held Jaxson who is a complete wiggle worm. I think they went out four times to the bathroom. I on the other hand had Ryan who I could keep busy with popcorn. Jaxson won't touch it. Ryan ate half a large tub of popcorn and we only left once during the show! The boys loved it! For their first movie, they did really well. At the end Andy gives his toys away to a little girl, Ryan said "Bye, Bye Andy". He really got it! Pretty cool.

After that we went back to our house and had a cookout with Mimi and Poppi! Had a great time and Ryan got his "meat". He is a complete carnivore. He loves hamburger, ground turkey, chicken, steak. You name it, he loves it. Jaxson will not touch anything but these nasty chicken fry appetizer things. Pretty funny how different they are. We had watermelon and "mowing" after dinner.

For fireworks we just stayed at our house and watched from our driveway! We live our in a subdivision where everyone has 1 1/2 to 2 acre lots, so everyone was shooting them off! Quite an impressive show. I bought a few sparklers and some really cheap fountains (that did nothing!). Like I said earlier, amazed at how different the boys are. Ryan was scared to death. Shaking. Mimi took him inside and read him a book. Jaxson on the other hand had a blast and held a sparkler by himself! To each his own!
Hope you had a good Fourth!

Happy Birthday Grandma! 28!

Happy Birthday Grandma! We hope you have a great day! We love you and can' t wait to see you again.

28 is the number of photos it took to get the three of them with the signs. 25 of those were trying to get Jaxson to sit still!
